Our Enfield, London site is currently looking for a Transport Controller reporting into Head of Logistics on a full time permanent basis.

**Transport CONTROLLER (ENFIELD)**

**REPORTING INTO: Head of Logistics**

**DEPARTMENT: Transport**

**LOCATION: Enfield**

**WORKING HOURS MON-FRI 0900 - 17.30 (40 hour contract)**

**ROLE OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE**

To control the transport-related activities of the Company site at Enfield whilst providing key support to the Head of Logistics.

The Transport Controller will be responsible for the smooth running of the transport office at Enfield, overseeing all planned routes and ensuring the fleet is run in an efficient and safe manner. They will Provide excellent communication between the team of drivers, arrange and plan for essential fleet maintenance reducing downtime and always ensure safe operations in partnership with our fleet providers.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conduct full debrief of all returning drivers on van deliveries. Collate all invoices and collection notes for return to Derby the next working day.
- Ensure full adherence to the Optimo Routeing schedule ensuring all drops are completed and any issues are reported to Derby Sales. Provide any training requirements to drivers to ensure 100% adherence to the plan.
- Control the activities of all transport team members, including recruitment, starters and leavers, disciplinary controls where appropriate, controlling holiday booking forms, ensuring absence/return to work forms are prepared and completed, preparation of working rotas plus pay and bonus issues.
- To monitor clocking report and to insure all Transport staff clock in and out daily.
- Undertake monthly audits of Enfield based vehicles and complete all associated daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork requirements as per existing and/or future amended procedures. Respond accordingly to any defect reported.
- Collate and monitor working hours, provide statistical data of working hours of drivers to ensure compliance with the Road Transport Directive and other legislation etc.
- Compile, agree and monitor practical and measurable KPIs for the site’s Transport operation.
- Conduct PDP process on all team members.
- Control, monitor and report on tray reconciliation for the Enfield site. This will include accounting for all trays that may be left at customers and keeping records of all trays sent to Derby.
- Conduct driving licence check (twice annually) using government portal and hard copy of licence.
- Identify and deliver training needs within the Transport operation. Ensure all staff complete required IHASCO training.
- Health and Safety responsibility for workplace transport activities, off site activities and completion of associated risk assessments.
- Investigation of all accidents and near misses (both vehicles and employees), completion of company accident form in preparation for submission to Company Insurers. Ensure resource is managed to allow for cover for holidays, sickness and other absence. Identify resource issues (both vehicles and drivers) as they arise and ensure Head of Logistics is informed.
- Hours of work will be related to business activity and holiday rotas and may include the occasional Saturday.
- To manage holiday requests for the Enfield Transport department and ensure the People Hub is updated daily where necessary. Manage annual holidays to ensure that all holidays allocated are taken by end of year.

- Monitor fuel use to maintain integrity of records and accounting for all fuel drawn.
- Manage movement of vehicles between service centres as per maintenance schedule.
- Update Sales on any issues occurring as they happen at customer sites.
- Ensure all collections are made and product returned to Derby.
- Managing vehicle parking on site to maximise space and ensure adherence to restrictions.
- Manage late orders and any late collection as required.
