**Job Summary**

To provide a balanced nutritious diet through a series of pre
- arranged menus prepared and cooked to a high quality suitable to the needs of the elderly residents. To suggest ways and means of improving menus by increasing the variety and by the use of seasonalproduce.

**Responsibilities**
- To manage the catering service and stocks of food of raw materials; maintain satisfactory cleanliness and hygiene at all times. Use food on a 'first in, first out’ basis which is the use of the oldest first and newest last.
- To wear appropriate clothing. I.e. cooks "whites" and non-slip footwear to have a current R.E.H.I.S Elementary Hygiene Certificate or be working towards this.
- To cook food as per menu, and serve in an attractive manner.
- To record all temperatures - food and fridges as required.
- To ensure larders are kept clean and tidy.
- Responsible to see that no staff food is to be eaten in the kitchen at any time and staff dishes to be washed and kept in the staff room. Staff food to be kept in the staff rooM/Fridge and not in the kitchen fridges.

**To be considered for this role you must**
- Have a proven track record or working in a similar post
- Be able to work a full time rota including weekends
- Have the ability to support the catering team
