Role purpose: To safely repair and maintain the BPH Equipment fleet of crawler cranes.
**What you'll be doing**
- Repair and maintain BPH crawler cranes in line with relevant RAMS, policies and procedures and OEM requirements;
- Ensure the depot is kept clean and tidy in order to facilitate a safe working environment;
- Ensure relevant task briefings have been carried out prior to tasks undertaken;
- To ensure the works are carried out in the most efficient and safe manner;
- Notify the Service & Maintenance Manager of any matters that affect the progress of works (including breakdowns & damages, etc.);
- Ensure maintenance/inspection checks are carried out, reports are correctly completed on time and submitted to the Service & Maintenance Manager;
- Actively & positively participate in Daily Activity Briefings and all relevant team briefings;
- Undertake training as required to retain and obtain required competency levels;
- To report any problems or safety issues to the Crane Supervisor / Manager;
- To ensure a quality service is delivered to the customer;
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental;
- To report all unsafe events and good practice events through the Balfour Beatty observation app;
- Ensure all operations conducted in line with the minimum Balfour Beatty H&S standards;
- Erection and dismantle of cranes on site as directed by the Service and Maintenance Manager;
- Provide oral & written condition reports on BPH assets, notifying line management of any relevant issue;
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs & feedback to the Service and Maintenance Manager;
- Liaise with clients regarding machine access and subsequent repair;
- Direct and/or assist manufacturers agents technicians carrying out repairs and / or maintenance work;
- Return to the Depot as and when required under the direction of the Service and Maintenance Manager.
**Who we're looking for** The following qualities/experience are essential**:
- Prior experience repairing and maintaining crawler cranes;
- Fit for Role Safety Critical Medical;
- Prior experience working with Crawler Cranes on major construction projects;
- Experience of working to site defined safe systems of work;
- Ability to work anywhere in the UK;
- Ability to understand & interpret operators manuals;
- Customer Focus;
- Planning & Organisation;
- Appropriate CSCS qualifications in diagnosis & repair of construction equipment;
- IPAF qualification;
- Knowledge of Plant hire industry;
- Clear drive and ambition;
- Ability to effectively manage conflict and work under pressure;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Management;
- Clean driving licence;
- Experience in conducting repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery.
**The following qualities/experience are desirable**:
- Prior experience working with Kobelco, Liebherr, Sennebogen and Hitachi Sumitomo Crawler Cranes;
- CPCS Competent A02 Crawler Crane above 10t Card (Blue Card) with the following endorsements:
- A66d - 360 Pick and Carry Duties;
- CPCS Competent A40 Slinger Signaller Card (Blue Card) with the following endorsements:
- A - All Types - All Duties;
- CPCS Competent A61 Appointed Person - Lifting Operations Card (Blue Card);
- CPCS Competent A62 Crane / Lifting Operations Supervisor Card (Blue Card);
- First Aid Qualification.
