Charity People is excited to be assisting the British Dyslexia Association in their search for a brand-new role: Fundraising Officer
About the BDA:
The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is the voice of dyslexic people. They aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.
As an umbrella organisation, the BDA want dyslexic people to view the BDA as the organisation that best represents them; the work of the BDA aims to reflect the values that dyslexic people hold dear.
They will listen to, and act upon, the needs of dyslexic people whenever they are able. They will foster a feeling of togetherness for all their membership and respect for dyslexic people, volunteers and staff.
Key objectives of the role are:

- Assist with the overall management and delivery of fundraising to deliver and grow income for the charity
- Act as an excellent and enthusiastic first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries
- Manage events and community fundraisers, providing great supporter care
- Welcome new supporters across all channels, including Facebook fundraisers
- Act as an ambassador for the charity and attend and support fundraising and other events as and when required, including some evenings and weekends
- Ensure compliance with Data Protection, Electronic Communications, Chartered Institute of Fundraising and the Fundraising Regulator guidelines;

You will have:

- Experience of event planning, delivery (including publicity and marketing) and participant recruitment
- Sound understanding of fundraising practices and a demonstrable ability to analyse results
- Experience of supporter / customer management and relationship building
- Strong organisational and administrative experience with an understanding of databases and CRM systems
Additionally, you will be a natural communicator and networker; you will be decisive, collaborative, and be a keen problem solver with a deep understanding of fundraising analysis and research.
