**A&O Research & Library**
The A&O Library is part of the A&O Research & Library function and supports all offices through the purchase and management of information resources - both digital and print. For the UK offices it is responsible for the management of the library collections including acquisitions, cataloguing, organisation and circulation of stock, and the administration of digital and print subscriptions. It also supports the global offices with the identification, purchase and processing of new resources, subscription administration, cost monitoring and collection management advice. For some offices the team provides a remote library management service. In the wider team the Librarians work closely with global practice groups on their library service and resource requirements.
The team is also responsible for the administration, development, and exploitation of the automated global library management system (LMS) including running reports, training and advising business users and international colleagues.

**What you will do**
You will work as part of the team providing access to materials and resources for individuals and libraries across the firm. This will include:
- Cataloguing_
- Classifying print and online resources according to standards and schemes for our different offices.
- Processing and distribution of physical items to all offices
- Acquisitions_
- Researching print and online resources including pricing and online access models
- Working with Practice Librarians and stakeholders to ensure items are identified, ordered and distributed.
- Ensuring the correct authorisations are obtained for all purchases
- Negotiating multi-buy discounts with suppliers
- Updating library management system (LMS) records
- Current awareness_
- Subscription management_
Management of subscription renewal process for print and some online resources, working with stakeholders to ensure subscriptions are reviewed and processed in a timely manner. Specific activities include:
- Ascertaining user requirements and analysing usage data
- Negotiating prices and making recommendations to stakeholders
- Negotiating and agreeing use and contract terms with vendors in line with A&O guidelines and communicating details to users
- Ensuring records are updated and maintained throughout the subscription period
- Support and promote library management system (LMS)_
- Provide training and support for library staff and business users
- Develop and maintain user guidance materials for both library staff and business users
- Work with external LMS provider to resolve technical problems
- Contribute to development and maintenance of best practice use of LMS
- General administration and support activities_
- Monitor the A&O Library team phone and incoming mail using the Enquiry Management system, ensuring that enquiries, access and support requests are prioritised and resolved
- Additional tasks as defined from time to time.
**What you will have**
- 3+ years’ experience in an information or library environment, preferably including acquisitions, subscription management and/or cataloguing tasks
- Technical expertise in the use of software and online products such as SharePoint, MS Office, automated library management systems (LMS), eBooks and eJournals is essential.
- Contract or licence management experience desirable
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience of delivering training, both remotely and in person
- Excellent all round communication skills, both oral and written

- Proactive and pragmatic in managing vendors and stakeholder expectations
- Committed to excellent client service
