Head of Investments

This presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Head of Investments / Investment Manager to work directly with the main board of this Group Company, boasting a diverse global investment portfolio.

As Head of Investments, you’ll take ownership of the analysis, reporting, and development of the existing portfolio of direct and indirect investments whilst exploring new commercial opportunities for the Group via either direct Venture Capital and/or Private Equity investments.

You will lead the continued growth of the investment portfolio, reporting on the business’s successes and challenges and providing expert recommendations on weightings/exposure adjustments. In addition, as head of investments, you will be encouraged to proactively seek new opportunities in line with the corporate strategy to build a portfolio of various risk and reward models and generate further diversity within the portfolio.

**The Company**:
A well-established West Midlands based Group Company with diverse commercial interests across the UK, South Africa and internationally. The business has an impressive and wide-ranging asset portfolio exceeding £300 Million, including commercial Real Estate, Engineering & Manufacturing operations, and strategic shareholdings in general investments and agriculture.

**What you’ll need**:

- An accountancy training or recognised banking qualification. CFA qualification would be desirable.
- Strong and demonstrable background in leading, managing and developing a broad investment portfolio in the UK and preferably overseas.
- Proven experience with analysing various asset types; listed shares, corporate bonds, venture capital, lending opportunities, property investment etc
- Sound knowledge of corporate documentation, SPA’s, SHA’s, loan documentation etc.
- Ability to manage Senior stakeholders, both internally and externally,
- Excellent negotiating skills

**It would be a bonus have (but not essential)**:

- Asset management/investment management, private equity, corporate finance, venture capital, investment banking, or family office investment arm.
- A good understanding of REITs and property companies will be beneficial.
- Experience/knowledge of loan origination and credit risk
- Experience in creating and completing JV structures and agreements.

**£85,000 - 100,000 + Bonus**

**Salary**: £85,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
