A large and highly successful steel stockholding and distribution company requires a Maintenance Enginner to be based at their site near Thirsk, North Yorkshire

The Role:
The position exists to maintain and develop the site and equipment in order to:

- Ensure equipment is maintained to ensure maximum performance and availability for production operations.
- Develop maintenance systems and equipment strategy to enhance customer service.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain equipment to ensure maximum availability and performance. (4 x laser profilers, 8 x Automated Saws, 26 x Overhead cranes, site vehicles & associated equipment)
- First line repairs and breakdown of equipment.
- Development, implementation and review of preventative maintenance systems.
- Development of warehouse equipment & processes including capital investment, maintenance and continuous improvements.
- Involved in the implementation of capital projects.
- Undertake any other reasonable task as required (competence permitting).

**KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE**
- Will be qualified in an electrical or mechanical discipline.
- A good understanding and experience of maintenance.
- IT Literate with some experience of machine systems.
- A good understanding of continuous Improvement processes and the ability to bring new ideas into the site, to develop and enhance the processes and procedures.
