Salt Therapies Assistant

This post is integral to the team working in in Twyn Glas Unit within the LD directorate of Aneurin Bevan Health Board.

The post holder will be expected to work across a 24 hr shift pattern with day to day line management provided by Twyn Glas unit manager. Professional supervision will be provided by a Learning Disability Speech & Language Therapist.

The post holder will contribute to the health care of the unit residents by implementing and embedding Learning Disability Speech & Language Therapy approaches for communication and swallowing on an individual, group or environmental basis. They will also follow therapeutic interventions as recommended by a range of therapy professionals and assistants. They will be able to work independently for periods and direct the band 3 SLTA staff within the residence, and other staff as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
