**Role**: School Cleaner (Evenings)

**Working Hours**: Term Time Monday to Friday 10 hours per week (2 hours per day to be completed between 3pm and 7pm) plus annual 27.22 banked hours to be completed in school holidays.

**Pay**:Scale point 2 (£11.59 per hour)

**You must**:

- Have previous experience in a cleaning role (Desirable)
- Have the ability to use a range of mechanical cleaning equipment
- Be hard working and enthusiastic
- Have the ability to work as part of a team
- Be punctual and professional at all times
- Be able to deliver great standards of cleaning
- Be able to attend training sessions and meetings at the Academy as required

**Job Description - Cleaner**

**Role Specific Duties**
- To clean specified areas of the school to the required standard, as instructed
- Washing floors, surfaces, fixtures and fittings and walls up to a safe height
- Cleaning sanitary fixtures and fittings in toilets and changing rooms to include washbasins, male and female toilets, urinals and showers
- Cleaning all internal glass, mirrors and all outwardly facing windows and doors to a safe height
- Scrubbing, buffing, Sweeping and vacuuming floors
- High and low polishing and dusting surfaces and furniture
- Cleaning toilets and shower areas
- Using and storing safely cleaning materials as appropriate, in accordance with their instructions
- Regular cleaning of touchpoints such as handrails, doors, light switches and communal areas
- To launder dusters, tea towels etc., if required
- To empty bins and remove rubbish including litter picking from the premises
- Carry out cleaning tasks to ensure Health & Safety standards are met. This may include clearing of bodily fluids, deep cleans of toilets or office, periodic cleans during holiday periods.
- To report any damage to school property or other relevant matter to the site assistant/cleaner in charge
- To use powered cleaning equipment as directed and in accordance with training

**General Duties**
- To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job
- To undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the post and/or as detailed in the academy's health and safety policy
- Promoting high standards of personal presentation and conduct, including being punctual and using social network media appropriately
