Simpson Judge are partnering with a large site business in Widnes

The position of Finance Assistant, which is predominantly accounts payable, is a key role within the finance team working efficiently and ensuring the highest levels of accuracy. The position requires day-to-day accounting functions to be carried out andrequires a team player who enjoys providing input and support in improving process efficiencies and reporting capability.

**Key responsibilities**
- End to end Accounts Payable function of the business
- Processing and payment of ~600 invoices per month using Sage
- Preparation and processing of month end journals - accruals etc
- Credit card statement and expense claim processing
- Involvement in year end audit process, reporting and provision of information
- Provide cover for other team members as and when required
- Any other ad hoc analysis, information requests to support the business

**Person profile**
- Experience within a similar position within Retail or Wholesale would be desirable but not essential
- Excel skills useful - vlookup / pivot tables
- Numerate with strong analytical skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter, full of initiative and able to work autonomously
- Team player
