Are you a meticulous, collaborative and highly organised individual with a strong track record of control account reconciliations and preparing and coordinating budgets? Do you have sound financial knowledge to ensure effective financial management of budgeting, planning and forecasting?

If so, join St Giles Trust as our **Finance Officer**, where you will provide vital support to the Financial Controller in managing the management and financial accounts of the Trust.

**About this key role**

We will count on you to monitor expenditure and income and to support project managers in completing returns to funders, as well as assisting in the setting on the forecast and annual budget and in the coordination of year end files and financial accounts. Attending meetings and undertaking regular progress finance meetings with budget holders and reporting on month end variances is also a key element of this role as is providing cover for the Transactional Manager during periods of absence.

**What we are looking for**
- Experience of in-year reporting/monitoring key performance indicators and managing the payroll process
- Experience of preparing management accounts returns for funders, reconciling fundraising figures to budgets/actuals on financial systems
- The ability to prepare finance figures for bids, interrogate, challenge and support multiple bids
- Able to use Exchequer or similar financial system and working with Sage 50 Payroll or similar software
- Ability to explain finances in an accessible and easy to understand manner to non-finance staff
- Degree and commitment towards working to an accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written
