**A secondary academy in Birmingham is seeking a Librarian to manage the school library and support the students with their studies.**
- The school librarian must perform their duties, tasks, and responsibilities as a distinct and active leader within the school community, supporting the literacy drive within the school.
- To support the DHT in decision making to support the literacy programme in the school.
- Play an active role in developing and promoting literacy across the school.
- Create an environment that is targeted towards active and participatory learning, resource-based instructional practices, and collaboration with teaching staff to meet the SDP.
- Remain current and updated on professional practices and developments, information technologies, and educational research, pertinent to school library programs
- Protect and audit the library’s information, books, and other materials
- Make necessary books and materials available to students and staff.
- Develop clubs and increase excitement around the library and with books.
- Support all staff with developing in class libraries across the school.
- Develop and build links with external libraries

**Salary**: £18,000.00-£20,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Birmingham: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
