**CAD Engineer**

**Shipley**

**Salary: £34,000**

**Hours:Monday - Thursday 08.30am - 5:00pm and Friday - 8.30am
- 1.30pm**

Grafton Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAD Engineer to join a busy Maintenance Team based in Shipley. Our client is a leading player in the design and manufacture heat exchange units and cooling modules.

**The Role**

Utilising the Creo CAD package to assist in the design of a full range of automotive cooling systems, liaising with suppliers, Applications Engineers and customers when necessary to make sure requirements are delivered, to budget and on time. You will interactwith other areas of the business including Purchasing, Production, Quality and Sales. Design calculations will be carried out to ensure the integrity of the product is compliant with cost down requirements and design procedure.
- Using CAD systems you will undertake new and existing product design projects to ensure that fully developed cost effective designs are produced to agreed time scales.
- Providing CAD support to Product Applications Engineer and Manager on NPI activities and key projects.
- To raise agreed detailed product specifications / BOM's prior to official drawing release on nominated projects.
- To originate cost down proposals for consideration on new and current assemblies and designs.
- To liaise with fellow designers to transfer concepts/improvements.
- Bring drawings in line with changes that have been made to component tools, and other departmental requests.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Good 3D and 2D working knowledge of Creo software or equivalent.
- Experience of creating to agreed specifications, production drawings and bills of materials according.
- Good relationship building and Stakeholder management
- Ability to work under pressure within a busy environment.
- Good team player & flexible approach to work.
- Current and clean driving licence.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Working knowledge of FEA systems including Creo-simulate
