Location: Derbyshire, GB, DE7 8YA- Req ID: 6191Ingersoll Rand are a market leader in the manufacture of Lubrication Pumps worldwide. The Ilkeston site are responsible for the Manufacture, Build, Test & Distribution of product to the marketplace. We are currently seeing YOY growth and investment in the Ilkeston site of both Machinery and people. This is a great opportunity for someone to take on a challenging role working & leading the assembly department.
- The Assembly Lead will be a hands on role Building and Testing a series of Hydraulic pumps to customer specifications. Working within the Engineering team and supporting the Shopfloor Production Supervisor to achieve daily output targets. After Completing an on-site training plan covering the pump ranges, you will work closely with the Production Supervisor planning the assembly teams daily workload. Any pumps built by the assembly team not performing to standard test you will take offline and work with other departments to find root cause. Recommending Continuous improvements of current manufacturing methods will also be included within your daily duties_.

**Responsibilities**:

- Investigating and working with the Manufacturing Engineers to implement ingenious process improvements of assembly flows to directly impact the productivity of the LOP.
- Seek to use visual controls in a way to effectively communicate manufacturing and assembly process improvements and project status to all team members.
- Support Repair investigation & Working with the Quality Manager complete root cause analysis on returned units.
- Ensure BOM's & Routings are correct & work with the Logistics & Sales teams to correct any errors.
- Assist the Production Supervisor through the creation and use of percent load charts to ensure staffing supports the takt time.
- Manage time effectively to complete Company goals on time while also tasked with the daily challenges/opportunities of real time problem solving in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Support a culture of CI and continuously demonstrate a want to implement Lean Manufacturing.

Qualifications:

- Experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically Pump assembly.
- Some Experience of working in a Lean manufacturing environment would be advantageous but training can be completed in-house.

Experience / Skill Requirements
- Proficiency in assembly processes and hands-on approach to troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools.
- Ability to independently manage and complete projects
- Forward thinking and possesses the ability to develop, document and implement systems and procedures that result in increased manufacturing effectiveness
- Ability to communicate information effectively through oral and written presentation. Can convey detailed or important spoken instruction to others accurately.
