**Support Work Assistant**

Cyfannol’s mission is to empower women and children to flourish in a life free from domestic abuse and sexual violence.

We offer a range of services throughout Gwent that encompass prevention, awareness-raising, safety, support and personal development opportunities for women and their children who have experienced violence against women, domestic abuse and/or sexual violence (VAWDASV).

**Hours**:24 per week _(12 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday)_

**_Job share possible_**

**_Mandatory attendance at supervision, team meetings and training outside of normal hours are paid._**

**Salary**: £20,000 per annum _(Pro-rated)_

**Contract**: Permanent

**Purpose of the Post**:To support the delivery of specialist support to adult and children living within Gwent who are affected by Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and/or Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) in primarily our accommodation services.

**Responsibilities**
- Work with tenants and children in an empowering and engaging manner, as set out in Cyfannol policies.
- Be able to support tenants emotionally if needed.
- To complete daily welfare checks.
- Carry out administrative duties such as record keeping, spreadsheet entry and refuge space nationwide database.
- To collect post daily from PO box.
- To communicate handovers to out of hours staff.
- To undertake some support work in line with support plan, needs or risk assessment and safety plan.
- To assist in the planning and delivery of activities for women and children residing in the refuge.
- To carry out and record health and safety checks and property checks to the specifications required.
- To complete fire drills, regular risk assessments, identify repairs or maintenance issues and arrange for issues to be rectified.
- To keep clear records and correspondence trails.
- To ensure professionals coming into the refuge or properties are supervised and sign confidentiality agreements.
- To support people living in Cyfannol properties to abide by house rules and licence agreements in order to be safe and maintain a tenancy.
- To support and encourage tenants to keep their living areas clean and risk free.
- To turn over flats or properties when tenants move on.
- To ensure that communal areas including kitchen, quiet room, laundry and garden are kept clean and risk free.
- To deal with incoming telephone calls.
- To ensure that first aid boxes are stocked and rotate items.
- To ensure that food stock, linin stock etc are replenished when needed and kept in a good order.
- To assist in providing the organisation’s out of hours response:

- Respond to phone calls when on shift from the Live Fear Free help line
- Undertake assessments for refuge request with support of on call system
- Assist colleagues in the event of incident/emergency in another project
- Liaise with 2nd and 3rd Tier buddy as required.
- To demonstrate and promote the organisation’s ethos, vision and values.
- To actively work in partnership with other agencies and organisations to achieve better outcomes for women and children affected by domestic and sexual abuse.
- Participate in team meetings, supervisions, clinical supervisions, appropriate training and away days.
- To work within the organisation’s Policies and Procedures.
- Any other reasonable duties as required.

**A current valid driving licence, access to a car and insurance covering business use is essential.**
