We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and reliable individual to provide support in the community and educational settings.

You will be supporting a client in need of emotional, practical and cognitive support
throughout the completion of their masters degree and activities of daily living.

You will need to:

- Be flexible and adaptable with excellent verbal and written skills.
- Have good time management skills.
- Possess IT skills in a personal and educational setting..

**Role - Supporting and facilitating educational engagement and daily activities towards independence for a young man recovering from head trauma. Previous experience of working within an arts and rehabilitation environment is desired but not essential.**

Role of personal assistant includes:

- Assisting personal independence skill development.
- Maintaining and supporting routines during both term time and holidays.
- Taking a positive approach to behaviour management.
- Ensuring record keeping is complete in an accurate and timely manner.

**Essential Skills**:

- Proactive in facilitating function and improvement.
- Basic understanding of cognitive and physical impairment.
- Demonstrate the ability to relate with empathy and support in dealing with anxiety and memory challenges.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to liaise with other professionals regularly.
- Ability to work productively as part of a team.
- The ability to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
- Skills in communicating with tact and sensitivity.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Current and clean driver’s licence.
- DBS is mandatory.

**Job Type**:
Flexible hours with hourly rate depending on daily timetable requirements.

**Experience**:

- PA/Support worker: 1 year (preferred).
- Cognitive Impairment: 1 year (preferred).
- Educational IT: 1 year (preferred).
- Background is Art/Design (preferred).

**Education**:
Relevant educational experience in relation to care/support would be beneficial to the role.

A degree in arts or another degree that demonstrates an ability to support the client in their educational setting (currently studying at Masters level).

**Working Arrangements**:

- Monthly timesheet & activity report.
- Supervision to be provided.
- Direct payment via Payroll company.
- Sickness and holiday cover to be provided via an agency.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour
