We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our Commercial team in the pub and brewery industry. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our procurement activities, working closely with suppliers, driving cost savings, and providing support across various areas of our diverse business operations in the UK and France. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, French bi-lingual individual who is passionate about the pub and brewery sector and eager to contribute to our success.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and grow the influence of Purchasing within key departments.
- To help rationalise and reduce the current supply base in both the UK and France, bringing to bear all knowledge and expertise to ensure Purchasing synergies are achieved to give a cost benefit.
- Work with existing purchasing support partners in both UK and France to maximise our purchasing power.
- Proactively highlight areas of focus and combining deals across the two countries we operate in.
- Identify and engage with potential new suppliers to assess opportunities.
- Assist Purchasing Manager in negotiating contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, new products, and emerging suppliers, with a focus on driving innovation and cost savings.
- Manage and maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers, addressing their information requests and any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Review purchased items to check against agreed product specification.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as Operations, Finance, and the supply chain management, to ensure seamless procurement processes and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Analyse purchasing data and prepare reports on key performance indicators, cost savings, supplier performance, rebate calculations and claims.
- Provide sales report information to support procurement activity.
- Update all sales channels with relevant developments, support where appropriate with industry knowledge.
- Assist in developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimise cost efficiencies and improve overall procurement processes.
- Support line manager on developing and maintaining purchasing plan.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement procedures, including the development and implementation of best practices.
- Coordinate with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Willingly perform ad hoc duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Prior experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of the pub and brewery industry, including an understanding of different product categories and related suppliers, is advantageous.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in procurement processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to communicate in French to a high standard.
