Welcome to Hounslow IAPT. We are a well established and friendly team offering high quality psychological therapies to Hounslow residents. We are excited to launch new Mental Health Practitioner roles to become an integral part of a new screening and triage team. Offering daily consultation on risk and safeguarding issues to professionals and other stakeholders.

- To provide a qualified specialist CBT service to clients of the Hounslow IAPT service. These clients are primarily suffering mild to moderate mental health problems, including anxiety and depression.
- To provide advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers. It will involve supervision of other colleagues including trainee HI therapists and PWPs, as well as trainee psychologists and trainees from other professional groups as appropriate.
- The post involves being able to work flexibly and to be able to work at least one evening session (i.e. 12am - 8pm one day). The sessions would be based in the Isleworth Centre team base and Health Centres in the London Borough of Hounslow.
- The post holder works autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
- The post holder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The Hounslow IAPT service is provided by West London NHS Trust in partnership with Anchor Counselling and Twining Enterprise. The service operates from a main hub in Isleworth, with clinics also being run from sites in Feltham, Brentford, Chiswick and Hounslow Central and Hounslow West.

Our Step 3 team consists of 20 full-time high intensity therapists whoprovide one-to-one and group CBT and carry out face-to-face and telephone assessments for clients presenting with moderate to severe depression and anxiety disorders.

As a member of the step 3 team you would have opportunities to supervise PWPs and trainee CBT therapists as well as being able to deliver training and teaching to colleagues. There is potential for developing a champion role as well as the chance to develop skills in leadership, project management and QI.

We are committed to the development of our staff and have an in-house CPD programme which is shared with the Trust’s other IAPT services, plus access via the London IAPT programme to training in other therapeutic modalities such as IPT, EMDR and Behavioural Couples Therapy.
