Support the Marketing, Communication and Events officer to raise the profile of the Deaf Academy, focusing on social media posts, recruitment marketing and design work. Assist the Partnership and Community Manager in daily marketing activities and the organisation of day to day activities.
**Key responsibilities**:
**Digital marketing**
- Assist in the management and maintenance of the Academy website (training will be provided).
- Assist with the management of social media channels (primarily Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), including scheduling content, in accordance with guidelines and content plans.
- Monitor social media channels, ensuring timely and appropriate interactions.
- Graphic Design?- You will be responsible for developing materials and other marketing collateral using the adobe suite in which full training will be given.

**Visual content**
- Develop high quality visual content for the Academy’s online and offline marketing channels.
- This will include developing video and photographic materials that serve both Deaf and hearing audiences and that tell engaging stories about our provision.
- Maintain the central image and film bank.
- Assist Academy staff with preparation of in-house design work using the branding templates.

**Marketing materials**
- Assist in the preparation of marketing materials including press releases, by writing copy, ensuring accuracy by proofreading for review by the Marketing, Communication and Events Officer.
- Manage media permissions for Academy students.
- Manage administration of electronic files.

Monitoring and evaluation
- Monitor marketing environment.
- Conduct research activities when required by the Marketing, Communication and Events Officer.
- Monitor and evaluate media coverage.
- Collate data and prepare marketing statistics throughout the year.
- Monitor website and social media analytics and report back as required.

**Events**
- Prepare support materials for marketing events and attend as required

**Strategy and planning**
- Work with the Partnership and Community Manager and Marketing, Communication and Events Officer to develop processes for all marketing and fundraising activities at the Academy.

**Accessibility**
- Work with relevant colleagues to ensure all marketing materials are accessible to our diverse audiences. This will include creating British Sign Language videos, adding sub-titles and voice overs when necessary.
- Book interpreters as and when required.

**Apprenticeship**
- Attend required off-the-job apprenticeship training with Exeter College, completing work to achieve the apprenticeship standards
- Attend work to achieve the on-the-job experience aligned to the requirement of the apprenticeship

Hours: 37.00 per week

About the employer:
Founded in 1826, the Deaf Academy provides a school and Further Education college for Deaf young people aged 5-25, and currently has 50 students. We are located in Devon, but our unique provision and specialist expertise mean that students come from across the UK to attend, with many using our residential care facilities. In September 2020 the Deaf Academy opened the doors of its new home in the vibrant seaside town of Exmouth, just a short drive or train journey from Exeter and 20 minutes from junction 30 of the M5. Requirements and Prospects:
Good standard of written English

Attention to detail in proof reading and preparation of documents

Experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, X and Instagram)

Able to work with online webpages to (WordPress, online CMS)

Basic understanding of graphic design principles/packages - particularly InDesign/Adobe Photoshop

Able to produce, edit and subtitle videos

Confident in using photography equipment

Knowledge of using digital statistics and analytics

An understanding of how Equality and Diversity can have a positive impact on a business and its stakeholders

Able to plan and prioritise workloads, often with conflicting demands, to ensure deadlines are met

Good administrative skills and a high degree of accuracy

Good literacy skills with ability to correspond effectively using different marketing mediums

Good inter-personal skills with the ability to work effectively with others

Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with key internal and external stakeholders

Ability to use own initiative appropriately

Enthusiastic, creative and solution focused approach

Ability to analyse information and data to track impact of campaigns and communications
