This post will support delivery of the Horizon Europe SUNREY project, and will report to Dr Emeka Amalu on a day-to-day basis. The role will be delivering on the work packages of the Horizon Europe SUNREY project.

The project focuses on Boosting SUstaiNability, REliability and EfficiencY (SUNREY) of perovskite PV cell/module through implementation of novel materials and process engineering. The SUNREY project develops novel mixed 2D/3D tin perovskites.

You will be part of the Teesside University Team that will develop novel encapsulants to extend the performance and lifetime of the module. Currently, perovskite modules demonstrate a much shorter operating life compared to the traditional silicon modules.

This role will support modelling of the degradation mechanisms of perovskite module. It will identify the failure modes of the system in the process. Specifically, you will be modelling the ingress of water/fluid and the encapsulation degradation to advice on system performance and reliability. The research will be carried out using computational modelling and simulation as well as experimental mechanics.

This post is funded for 23 months by the Horizon Europe grant SUNREY.
