The Role:
There is an exciting opportunity to support work on M&G’s Internal Capital Model (ICM). The role sits within the Capital Production team within the wider M&G Model and Valuations team. The Capital Production team focuses on the modelling of M&G Capital Requirements. This roles requires a qualified or near qualified actuary (or relevant background working directly with actuarial models) who has practical experience of Solvency II valuation reporting.

The role will include the opportunity to:

- Develop an understanding of M&G’s Internal Capital Model (ICM) and how this is used to produce results for SII quarterly reporting and Stress and Scenario testing;
- Develop an understanding of how M&G’s non-profit annuity business, and in particular the assets the back these, are modelled in the ICM;
- Develop and understanding of how the Matching Adjustment is modelled and how this changes under stress; and
- Work with colleagues across the wider business within Finance and Risk to support delivery of financial reporting in line with regulatory deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

- To produce and be accountable for understanding and explaining changes asset related capital activity.
- To support the Manager of Capital Production - Assets on delivery of all key outputs, including full updates to non-profit annuity asset models twice per-annum
- To track changes to M&G’s non-profit annuity assets e.g. sales, purchase and credit rating movements and ensuring these are properly reflected within the ICM.
- To provide technical expertise to design technical solutions as part of change projects within M&G where required.

- Excellent technical actuarial knowledge, with attention to detail.
- Motivated and willing to take responsibility and ownership of the work assigned.
- Demonstrable experience of problem solving and providing practical solutions to complex problems.
- Commercial aptitude and the ability to consider the impact of decisions.
- Strong commercial and collaboration skills.
- Ability to express own viewpoint and to communicate clearly on complex actuarial issues.
