**Electronic Design Engineer (Digital and Analogue)**

**Permanent, (full time) 35 hrs per week**

**Salary up to £50k depending on skills and experience, +Profit share** (variable, but typically 10% of salary in recent years)

We are a scientific instrument developer and manufacturer based in Cambridge, established since 1987 and exporting products to a global customer base.

We seek a practically-minded electronics design engineer with experience of developing both digital and analogue systems to join our Research and Development team.

You should either be qualified to degree or equivalent level, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience.

You should have experience of:

- Design of digital circuits, including using modern microcontrollers
- Design of analogue circuits, including using op-amps & filters
- Using software for schematic design, routing and build-pack production
- Documentation of build instructions and investigations
- Sampling and conversion of analogue signals in both directions
- AC circuits (including mains)
- Basic control theory (e.g. PID control)
- Troubleshooting digital and analogue circuits
- Practical electronics build for prototyping

Advantageous experience would include:

- Instrumentation development
- ARM Cortex-M (specifically STM32 family) microcontrollers
- Embedded coding of the above
- Design for electromagnetic compatibility
- High voltages (up to 10 kV)
- Low noise circuits and low-level current measurement
- Control cabinet layout
- FPGAs
- Familiarity with national and international standards e.g. ISO, UL
- Use of CADSTAR software
- PC programming (e.g. for user interfaces)
- Engaging with the end product as part of a team
