An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Control Engineer to join our Control Systems Team, sitting within the Electrical Department. Integral to the success of the business, the Control Systems Team is a fast-moving and ever-changing environment in which the successful individual will be involved in specifying and developing control strategies in software project work across a number of sectors including automotive, motorsport, mining, aviation, marine and defence. Problem solving is absolutely at the heart of what we do at WAE and the successful applicant will be part of multi-disciplinary project team providing technical support to our diverse client base.

**What you’ll be doing in the job role***:
- Take project ownership and leadership of project delivery from a SW development point of view
- Coordinate with project management and other teams involved in the project(s) to deliver agreed content according to project milestones
- Provide a framework and coordinate activities of more junior team members involved in the same project(s)
- Specification and development of control strategies to satisfy system requirements.
- Deriving and implementing software requirements from system requirements in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Working closely within the team to ensure the SW developed meets quality standards.
- Supporting ISO26262 process with traceability from requirement to implementation.
- Supporting MIL/SIL testing to project requirements.
- Supporting HIL rig and system testing.
- Contributing to patentable IP.
- Flexibility to accommodate project changes and achieve milestones.

**You’ll have**:

- An engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, Degree, Degree Apprenticeship) and or equivalent experience of mainstream automotive ECU software development.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and automatic code generation techniques for algorithm development is essential.
- Knowledge of Autosar modelling guidelines in MATLAB/Simulink is essential.
- Experience developing production embedded software following ISO26262 process is essential.
- Strong understanding of modelling techniques is desirable.
- Experience/understanding of test and measurement techniques is desirable.
- Knowledge/experience with CANape/CANoe/CANalyzer is desirable.
