This post is primarily aimed at providing a service for adults with common mild to moderate mental health problems (Tier 2) presenting in Primary Care. The post holder will join a growing team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologist, Advanced Psychology Practitioners/Psychological Therapists and Wellbeing Workers based in various locations across Aberdeenshire. The posts are supported by Clinical Supervision and professional management from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen and will be line managed by Team Leaders within the service.

Work will be a combination of face to face sessions within GP surgeries, other Primary Care health facilities as well a remote appointments, working from home, using NHS Attend Anywhere.

Please note the service is working under the appropriate COVID pandemic regulations at the time of advertising this post.

The role will involve assessing and providing psychological therapy for patients with a range of mild to moderate mental health problems including depression and a range of anxiety disorders. The post holder will have high level skills in psychological therapy, having obtained, for example, an MSc in Psychological Therapy in Primary Care or a PG Diploma in CBT (or equivalent, see Person Specification for more details). Post qualification experience would be desirable but is not essential, providing their training has included substantial clinical placement practice. This post, which offers the opportunity to advance your career in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is close to the Cairngorms and Aberdeen, a lovely granite city set on stunning coastline populated by dolphins.
