**Job title: Lower School SENCO**

**Location: Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk**

**Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum**

**Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 08:15 to 16:00**

**Contract: Permanent, Term Time only**

Due to growth in service, we are recruiting for a Lower School SENCO to join our amazing team at Wetheringsett Manor.

**About the role**

The SENCO will ensure that Special Education Needs [SEN] provision is effective and efficiently managed and that all legal and statutory requirements are met for students needing SEN.

The SENCO will take on the day-to-day responsibility in the Education Team to provide professional guidance of SEN to teaching staff in order to maintain and increase a high quality standard of teaching, to make good use of resources to improve standards and achieve positive outcomes for the students.

The aim of the role is to support and promote each pupil’s individual learning by working with the Head of Education to ensure that EHCP outcomes are fulfilled whilst also ensuring a positive, caring environment is maintained. This includes but is not exclusive to providing direct support to young people who require additional support to reach their academic potential, to oversee and contribute to the wider holistic development of young people in the long term and help facilitate next steps in education post 16 / 18 depending on academic pathway.

To work alongside the Lead SENCO to implement strategies, processes and approaches that are in fitting with the schools’ approach.

**About the School**

Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 42 pupils aged 11-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

Wetheringsett Manor School has gone through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units.

We pride ourselves in steering pupils in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements.
