**What You Will Do**:
As an **Apprentice Floor Layer**, you will work alongside experienced floor layers to assist in the installation of various types of flooring, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing surfaces for installation by cleaning, leveling, and smoothing as necessary.
- Assisting in the cutting, fitting, and laying of flooring materials according to specifications.
- Learning to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Providing support to the team members as needed to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

- **Flooring Materials**: Gain a comprehensive understanding of different types of flooring materials and their unique characteristics.
- **Installation Techniques**: Learn various installation techniques, including measuring, cutting, and fitting, to achieve professional results.
- **Health and Safety**: Acquire knowledge of health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- **Customer Service**: Develop interpersonal skills and customer service etiquette to effectively communicate with clients and address their needs.
**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**
During your Standard Level 2 Floor Layer - Textile & Resilient apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on the job. You will be required to attend WEBS Training on Day release basis, which is once per week, the rest of the time you will be within the workplace. You will learn the underpinning knowledge that runs alongside your practical elements of the training. You will use a wide range of techniques whilst you complete a practical project. WEBS Training aim to build on the skills you already have so you reach your full potential both personally and professionally.
Training will be provided in all areas of Floor Laying to ensure you are capable of performing the role to British Standards.
If you have already achieved GCSE maths and English at Grade 4/C or above or have equivalent qualification you will be exempt from undertaking Functional Skills, however English and maths support will be provided for all apprentices throughout the length of their programme.

Pay: From £6.40 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
