**Overview**
Pertemps Recruitment on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting opportunity for an Inspector (Home Safety Check Officer) to join the Homes for Ukraine scheme on a remote working basis with occasional travel to the High Wycombe office (HP11 area).Working alongside the Team you will play an important role in undertake home safety checks, inspecting homes which are hoping to host families/people from Ukraine
**About the role**
As an Inspector (Home Safety Check Officer) you will have a number of responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

- To arrange and inspect domestic properties which are nominated to host refugees as part of Government schemes.
- To produce clear and concise reports during and following inspections.
- To calculate occupancy of properties in line with the Housing Acts 1985 and 2004 and associated guidance.
- To advise and communicate clearly with property owners/occupiers regarding any recommendations identified during the inspection.
- To have an awareness of safeguarding and report concerns appropriately.
- To communicate with colleges and partners the outcomes of completed inspections.
- To maintain up to date professional knowledge of appropriate legal, technical and social issues to ensure the delivery of an effective quality service
- To be responsible for monitoring and updating information systems and producing reports and statistical information
- Build and manage key relationships with delivery partners, providers and suppliers, positively promoting and selling services.
- To contribute to the overall performance of the service in order to deliver the Council's strategic and service objectives.

This is a temporary position for six months, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £42.40 per inspection, and you will be working on a case-by-case basis (Some weeks we get 10 properties nominated and other weeks its 70so the role will suite someone looking for flexible working or someone looking to work on an 'Outside IR35' basis).
This role can be done remotely as will predominantly involve travelling to houses, with the occasional visit to the High Wycombe office, which is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP11 area) with great transport links including a local train stationand excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40
**About you**
We are looking for someone with previous experience in inspections, either with an environmental health background or housing background
The work of the team is varied and fast-paced so we are looking for an experienced and highly organised individual who can manage competing priorities and work independently and as part of a team. You will need to be empathetic with our service users and ableto use your initiative when dealing with queries.
You will be motivated to make a positive difference for our members and want to deliver total satisfaction.
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant processes, systems, policies and procedures will be essential, as will good knowledge of other areas of the authority relevant to the service.
Due to the frequent liaison activities, excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
You take responsibility for your work and are trusted to perform your job to the best of your ability.
