Coverholder Auditor

Role Purpose

To conduct operational audits of Coverholders and Claims Third Party Administrators (TPA).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Schedule and complete audits to ensure that UK and Europe Coverholders and TPA’s are adhering to their delegated agreements and local regulatory requirements.
- Audit key processes and controls of the Coverholder/ TPA including underwriting, finance and reporting, claims, IT, governance and compliance.
- Prepare and deliver audits to include pre-audit preparation, audit execution and reporting.
- Identify issues and report the same to business sponsors and senior management.
- Escalate any material issues to Internal Audit as necessary.
- Track and follow up on audit issues and corrective actions identified at Coverholders and TPAs.
- Collate relevant data to track and report on the completion, results and outstanding actions of all audits.
- Develop working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure necessary resources and skills to undertake all allocated tasks.
- Identify and communicate training or resource gaps to management.

Performance Measures
- Audits are completed accurately and completely in accordance with an annual plan.
- Adequate documentation and records are maintained of work for each of the planning, fieldwork and reporting stages.
- Audit and control issues are escalated promptly to the Head of Internal Audit and senior management.
- Audit reports are clear and concise reflecting accurate findings and recommendations which are reasonable and practical.
- Actions are tracked, followed up and reported to stakeholders on a timely basis.
- Communication (both written and verbal) is professional and appropriate.
- Feedback from stakeholders on service delivery and knowledge of processes and controls.

Person Specification
- Established Coverholder auditor working within the London Market.
- Knowledge of Coverholder and TPA operations.
- Good understanding of audit methodologies and standards.
- Good understanding of P&C Insurance and regulatory frameworks.
- Willingness to travel within UK and Europe.
- Someone who has strong analytical capability and organisational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills adept at handling different stakeholders.
- Proportional and pragmatic, always providing independent and objective opinion.
- Professional presentation skills.
- Strong report writing skills.
- Relevant professional qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Bachelor's Degree.
