They always aim to be that one step ahead of potential issues. We understand that we are a vital part of a larger team, where each trade has its own deadlines to hit. We also understand that everyday obstacles sometimes need that added bit of ingenuity tokeep costs low and deadlines on track.
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Receive quotation and tender requests, book them in, review tender requirements and prepare estimates using drawings and relevant computer-based estimating and measuring software including AutoCad, Bluebeam and advise sales team of project requirements.
- Prepare bills of quantities, element rates using component prices from supplier’s price agreements together with covering tender letter.
- Telephone calls to chase prospective clients regarding tenders. Confidence and ability to undertake Teams/Zoom based calls and meetings.
- Attend client meetings and site visits if required.
- Organising electronic files from the initial enquiry, following through on how the project is going, sending letters, sales literatures etc.
- Collating tender presentation for selected large key bids which need personalised binders.
- Arrange for a member of sales or contracting team to visit site where necessary to establish site requirements and/or conditions.
- Providing admin support to two directors and handling telephone calls/enquiries when they are not in the office.
- Formally book secured projects and liaise with Contracts Dept when an order has been received. Compile handover document and pass paperwork to Contracts Dept/Credit Control as required.
**Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required**
- Previous experience in construction estimating (preferably commercial fitout)
- Experience of working on own initiative and as part of a team
- IT literate with sound working knowledge of windows and packages i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Bluebeam, AutoCad and MS Projects or equivalent.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Good written and oral skills.
- Good planning and organizing of own work.
- Ability to manage own time to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
- Good customer care skills.
- Strong numerical skills
- Good team player with supportive attitude to working with managers and colleagues.
- Willingness to undertake training to learn relevant new skills and acquire knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident telephone manner.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet firm deadlines.
- Pleasant and confident personality.
- Capable of working under pressure.
