Deep Hole Borer

Cordius are currently recruiting for a Deep Hole Borer to join one of the UK’s largest privately owned machining sub-contractor based in Chesterfield.

, 45 hours/week

**Salary**: £13.00-£16.50 per hour

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Operate machines in accordance with operation sheets
- Complete all tasks in a safe and conscientious manner
- Identify and separate any non-conforming parts using the non-conformance reporting system
- Perform required tool changes as specified by the process
- Measure parts according to drawings and job card standards
- Utilize measuring tools and gauges to achieve tolerance specifications
- Perform any necessary machine offsets
- Conduct setups in accordance with process sheets and setup manuals
- Perform 1st piece production first off check
- Diagnose and address production/machining problems
- Download component programme files to machine controls
- Other responsibilities as assigned

**Skills, Experience & Qualifications**:

- Capability to read drawings, process paperwork, and inspection measuring devices
- 1-3 years' experience running deep hole borer machines
- 1-3 years' experience setting up deep hole borers and various hand tools in a machine shop environment
- Capability to recognise and correct production machining problems
- Being able to stand and move around for the duration of the shift (reasonable accommodations will be made for those with disabilities)
- Capable of communicating verbally and in writing
- Ability to maintain the required production rates
- Some basic knowledge of measuring equipment
- Confidence to perform independently and at a high standard
- NVQ level 3 in Engineering or its equivalent, or a minimum of three years' experience in a comparable position (desirable)
- English and math GCSE grades A-D or equivalent (desirable)
