**About Street Scene**

Street Scene is the one service that reaches every resident of the borough. We are committed to delivering a high quality, value for money service to all residents and businesses in the borough. We are responsible for Recycling & Waste and Garden Waste collections from domestic properties, Street Cleansing across the borough, our Grounds Maintenance service who maintain our many parks and green spaces, our Commercial Waste team provide services to many businesses in the borough, Passenger Transport where we provide a school transport service to children and vulnerable adults and our Fleet department who maintain all of the council’s vehicles, from large waste collection vehicles to small vans.

**About the role**

You will provide the Street Scene management and supervisory team with professional support in respect of health and safety compliance across the range of operational and professional functions provided by the service.

You will be a point of contact for health and safety enquiries, provide initial health and safety advice to service managers and work in conjunction with the council’s Safety, Health and Wellbeing team.

You will manage the services' health and safety data sets and records to support health and safety workload planning, performance and compliance monitoring and reporting.

**About you**

You will have a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Health and Safety Certificate.

You will have experience of:

- Carrying out incident investigations and providing advice on remedial actions.
- using and implementing project management techniques.
- Ability to administer and manage health and safety software systems
- Experience of using Office based products
- Ability to fully utilise the functionality of Microsoft Excel and produce complex reports
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety processes and incorporating sensible risk management
- Experience of undertaking risk assessments
- Ability to analyse and understand data and information, and to provide management information and reports
- Experience of providing H&S guidance/advice
- Able to work collaboratively and build relationships
- Experience of writing technical reports and producing management information.
