Our client is looking for Carers to enable clients to live as independently, comfortably and safely as possible in their own homes. Ideally you will be qualified but opportunities exist for those looking for a career change who may not be qualified. All successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure with the barring service (DBS)

Successful individuals will implement care plans by directly providing practical, physical, social and emotional care in client’s own homes.

As a carer you must be sensitive and responsive to the race, culture, religion, age, disability and gender.

Typical duties will include:
Personal Care:

- Washing, showering and bathing.
- Use of bath aids.
- Assisting with shaving.
- Mouth / denture care.
- Assisting with dressing and undressing.
- Management of incontinence, catheter care included.
- Toileting.
- Moving and handling

Other Duties:

- Meal preparation and assistance with feeding where required
- Light household duties which may include - Laundry, dusting, vacuuming, tidying, emptying bins, bed making, keeping the refrigerator clean and ensuring the contents have not expired.
- Escorting / accompanying clients to appointments
- Making transport arrangements
- Shopping - ensuring all receipts are kept and the financial transaction form is completed
- Care of pets
- Prescription collection
- Assisting with medication
- Report or alert the care manager to any changes recognised with the client or their care package.

Knowledge and Expertise:

- General care experience
- Ideally some experience in caring for clients in their own homes
- Ideally QCF / NVQ Level 2 or 3 Health and social care qualified

**Salary**: Monday
- Friday £15.00 per hour and Saturday-Sunday £20.50 per hour
Location: Ipswich

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Apprenticeship, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £11.45-£13.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
