At Rosemary Lodge Residential Care Home, we are looking for local people who are passionate about providing an outstanding level of care and go the extra mile for our residents.

We currently have a vacancy at Rosemary Lodge Care home working 28-30 hours a week.

Rosemary Lodge is 29 bedded Residential care home for adults over 65+ consisting of residential rooms for Dementia & supported living, situated just of king’s heath high street, it is easily accessible from all areas of Birmingham.

We are looking for someone who can bake cakes and pastries for our residents to enjoy. You will have experience running a kitchen and experience working within a care home setting and you will need to have your Level 2 food hygiene certificate.

**Main Responsibilities**
As an experienced Cook you will be responsible for providing a varied, appealing, wholesome and nutritious diet, suited to individually assessed and recorded requirements. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Prepare menus for the care home considering the content, balance, colour and nutritional values, in line with agreed budget;
- Prepare, cook and serve well-presented meals at the agreed times, minimising any food wastage;
- Provide residents with two full meals each day;
- Ensure that hot and cold beverages and snacks are always available;
- To prepare special diets for residents as directed by the management;
- Ensure provision of cultural or religious dietary needs as per individual care plan;
- Carry out stock takes at the end of each month;
- Have full understanding of IDDSI Framework, ensure all staff adhere and all documentation is completed and signed;
- Ensure that the Health and Safety standards in food provision areas are met at all times;
- Maintain and record an agreed deep cleaning schedule for the kitchen;
- Comply with equipment approved usage guidelines and to work in a safe manner;
- Ensure all fridge/freezer temperatures are recorded daily;
- Assist in the preparation of function menus and costing;
- Co-operate with special requests from the Home Manager and residents wherever possible;
- Complete all mandatory training as required by the Home;
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks as expected by the Registered Manager;
- Display positive and flexible aptitude to working as part of a team;
- Show initiative and have an excellent work ethic;
- Respond efficiently to a high workload and to sustained physical effort;
- To carry out all duties in a safe manner having regard for the health, safety and welfare of self, staff, Residents and other persons within the home.

A cooking qualification and Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, and there will be opportunities for further training and development. Previous experience is essential.

**SKILLS**
- Hold a Level 2 food hygiene certificate
- Experience of working within a care home setting
- The ability to multi-task whilst maintaining a high energy level
- Well organised with the ability to adapt, prioritise and work under pressure.
- Able to keep calm and composed and plan ahead
- An excellent record of attendance and punctuality
- A commitment and enthusiasm for the vision of The Muath Trust and high standards of service provision
