**Buyer/Procurement Scheduler**

An opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly growing UK designer and manufacturer of high-quality architectural grade LED lighting, using the most up-to-date technology available.

Based in Hatfield’s Business Park in an electro-mechanical environment - your main responsibilities will be to manage the supply chain, develop purchasing strategies and establish / audit potential new Suppliers, as well as the planning and coordination of stock.

You will manage / audit the supply chain to ensure procurement efficiency, at the right cost and quality to the business.

As we design our own products, the role requires a combination of bespoke and off the shelf component procurement, as well as finished Electro-mechanical goods and custom metalized finishes.

You will work with the Procurement & Inventory Control Manager to ensure overall stock meets budgetary and operational requirements/targets.

**Duties / Responsibilities**:

- Order placement and cost control
- Supply / demand alignment with MRP recommendations / Average usage
- Material / component forecasting for future business activity
- Supplier performance and auditing - to ensure a robust supply chain
- Monitoring OTD (On Time Delivery) of open POs
- Supplier Quality Management to required standards (e.g. ISO 9001 / IPC-A-610)
- Deliver cost savings initiatives - through controlled CI methods
- Processing, review & reporting Operations scrap - including debit notes to Suppliers
- New Product Introduction procurement and sourcing alternative components

**Experience**:

- Supply chain management and auditing
- Purchasing strategies and inventory management
- Supplier selection and recommendation
- Electro-mechanical product base
- Injection molding & CNC/Sheet metalworking
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards
- MRP System experience - Priority SW would be a massive advantage

**Skills**:

- Analytical and Attention to detail

- Planning and organizational skills
- Handle critical issues and multiple priorities
- Resourceful and willing to go the extra mile when required
- Excellent time management
- Proficient in MS Office

**Academic Qualifications**:

- Degree level - or relevant work experience
- Background in either mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering would be preferable

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
