**Job overview**:
**We now have a vacancy for a full time, Band 2 Grounds and Gardens Operative based at the Royal Oldham Hospital.**

You will carry out a full range of grounds maintenance and landscaping across the Royal Oldham site ensuring compliance with trust safety standards and procedures.

**Main duties of the job**:
You will need the ability to work with minimum supervision and must be capable of providing on call gritting duties from November to March.

You will maintain planted areas, shrubberies, verges and carry out digging, raking and all relevant seasonal gardening activities. You will be competent and familiar in the use and maintenance of hand and powered gardening tools and capable of driving a wide range of Trust vehicles.

- Maths, GCSE or equivalent standard of education
- NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture (Landscaping or equivalent)
- Good written and verbal communication skills in order to be able to liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
- Knowledge of general gardening/landscape maintenance
- Ability to undertake out of hours on call duties
- Must hold a current full driving licence
- Proven Amenity gardening/grounds maintenance

**Desirable criteria**:

- PA/PA6A National certificate for Herbicide, Insecticide and spraying.
- Gritting experience

**Qualifications**:
