**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Microwave Engineer. Whether you're at the beginning of your career or have a wealth of experience, we have a place for you at Leonardo.

You will help us deliver the innovative Microwave design that forms part of our self-protection systems installed on fast jet, UAV, land and naval platforms. Depending on the role you take, you may be able to carry out some of your work from home (Custom or Hybrid working)

**What you will do**

As a microwave engineer you will work with the support of experts in their field, using world-class facilities to deliver designs that work to beyond 20GHz, and help form the complex electronic systems that meet our challenging future customer requirements.

The scope of work can range from design and technical problem solving to product development. This role may even take you across the UK or abroad for technical reviews.

**What we need from you**

**_What you really must have:_**
- RF Synthesiser design, using DDS and PLL technologies,
- RF downconverter and digitiser design,
- Design of passive microwave structures,
- Low phase noise design and measurement,
- Non-linear circuit simulation,
- Design techniques using Keysight ADS, Microwave Office, CST Microwave Studio and Mentor.
- Model driven engineering using Matlab and Simulink tools,
- Derivation of design requirements and architecture from system requirements,
- A structured approach to electronic design
- RF test methods and equipment

**_ It would be nice if you had: _**
- Experience within the defence industry
- You might have an HNC/HND or Undergraduate Degree (Electronic Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics or Mathematics) or you may just have lots of skills and experience gained through your hard work.
- You may have taken a career break away from Science, Technology and engineering whichever route brings you to us we can find a place for you.
