Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes (TMCP) is a charitable organisation based in the Northern Quarter of Manchester which provides legal and financial services, acting as Custodian Trustee for property and trusts held on behalf of the Methodist Church in England, Scotland and Wales.

We are looking to recruit a Support Officer to provide administrative support to our Finance team and to the wider organisation.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual for this role. You will be required to work with people at all levels throughout the organisation and wider Methodist Church. You will demonstrate enthusiasm and a commitment to delivering a high-quality support service. A background working in a financial environment and knowledge of the Methodist Church would be an advantage.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Completing general administration for the Finance Team including trust administration such as opening and closing trusts, treasurer updates, bank details etc.
- Entering payment details in readiness for payment runs
- BACS checking.
- To assist the Senior Management Team on projects as requested such as digitisation of files, scanning documents etc.
- Plan and organise own workload to comply with established time constraints.
- Assisting investment processing sales/purchases /analysis and reconciliations.
- Foreign currency calculations and recording.
- Month-end and year-end duties such as journal, calculations and trust /account reconciliations.
- Other tasks as requested by the Finance Manager and Operations Lead

**Qualifications and skills required include**:

- 3 years proven experience in a Finance administration role
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and be able to adapt to changing technology and working practices within an office environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team

Salary up to £20k pro-rata (£25k p.a. FTE) depending on experience. Hours of work are 28 hours per week, 4 days a week (9am to 5pm) but there may be the possibility of the post increasing to full-time in due course. The role is office-based in Manchester but will also require the ability to work from home as needed.
