Dehoarding Practitioner

**Winchester and northern part of Hampshire but also required for Southampton and southern Hampshire when the teams are at capacity there.**

Respect My Stuff Ltd is a specialist company dealing with people who hoard. Part of this process inevitably involves the removal of hoarded items and extreme clutter, often of an extreme volume. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join our small team on an 'as and when needed' basis. In addition to the removal of hoarded items the role will also involve assisting in the longer term dehoarding process (typically working in pairs with a client for three hours a week over a three month timeframe).

The job is physically demanding and can involve dealing with all sorts of waste and associated smells

The successful applicant will also receive specialist training on all aspects of the role including the mental health implications associated with hoarding and the need to present at all times with empathy and understanding.

Unfortunately we can only offer the role on a **casual worker appointment basis. IT IS NOT A FULL-TIME POSITION. We will however endeavour to get you as many hours as possible.**

**The successful applicant should have access to a vehicle, this also involves regular disposing of smaller volumes of items at recycling centres or to charity.**

**Main activities and requirements**
- Ideally have a background in supporting people with mental health difficulties (some of our practitioners have other part-time jobs also)
- Happy to undertake physically demanding lifting, loading and sorting
- Be prepared to undertake ongoing training
- Excellent customer care delivery
- Flexibility in working times
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work on your own at times, but mainly as a 2-3 person team
- Excellent record keeping
- Compliance with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements and our Covid-19 Policy
- Assist with household cleaning following clearance or dehoarding
