NanoDTC Administrator (Fixed term)*

The EPSRC CDT in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NanoDTC) is a world leading Centre for Doctoral Training based at the University of Cambridge. As a highly interdisciplinary graduate education and research centre, the Centre has activities across multiple Departments within the University including Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, and others. The Centre offers an MRes+PhD programme in Nanoscience which attracts the best graduate students internationally in the field. Each incoming annual cohort has 12 students on average, with around 50 students on the programme at any given time. There are a further 30 Associated PhD students and > 100 Teaching Associates and senior academics associated with the Centre, so it is full of diverse activity.

The role-holder will provide administrative, financial and secretarial services to the Centre, planning and organising meetings and larger events including conferences and team-building events, responding to internal and external enquiries, processing financial requests, liaising with external partners, maintaining information on the website and social media and supporting all aspects of the MRes+PhD programme including admissions.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be highly competent in standard software packages, eg Word and Excel and have the willingness to learn to use additional software tools. You will have the ability to prioritise a varied workload and competing demands effectively. You will enjoy working in a team and being part of a diverse and active community of students, academics and team members. This position is full time (36.5 hours per week), working Monday to Friday. The role is mainly office based, with some hybrid working by agreement.
