Gardener/groundsperson

Ashton Care is a family owned and run business based in Bognor Regis. We opened our first home in 1986 and since then have expended to provide health care support to adults through our four different services.

As a family run business we understand the importance of team work and looking after each other. This means we are keen to train our staff as we believe investing in them helps us to build a better, stronger future. We also have opportunities to change career paths (fro example to cooking, building maintenance, nursing etc).

We look for the following qualities
- honest and reliable
- can work on their own initiative (without supervision) but ask for help when needed
- work as part of a team when needed
- caring and sensitive to those around them
- a good communicator
- access to own, fully insured vehicle
- previous experience in a gardening or ground keeping role
- must pass a criminal back ground check (DBS) to work in the care homes

The job description is:
1. Cutting grass (using pedestrian / traditional lawn mower and ride on lawn mower).

2. Pruning shrubs and pushes

3. De-weeding flower beds and foot paths

4. Planting and maintaining seasonal flower beds

5. Clearing guttering

6. Ensuring gardens are free of litter and leaves.

7. Fence and paving repairs, cleaning and treatment.

8. Ideally able to carry out basic maintenance of tools and machinery.

8. Working with maintenance team for enhancements to the grounds (new footpaths, new flower beds and garden shelters).

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour
