**Group Head of Technical and ESG - national role, with regular travel to sites in Coventry, North Yorkshire, Bury St Edmunds, Eye (Suffolk) and Harlow.**

CPC Group has acquired five UK food manufacturing companies and we are excited to recruit a Group Head of Technical and ESG to join our group senior leadership team (SLT). The successful appointee will bring a blend of environmental and social knowledge to a corporate setting, and will play a key role in engaging with our investors, the SLT and Board, as well as key communities.

As this role will support our technical, health safety, and environmental teams to deliver our group strategy, we are looking for a strategist who is passionate about the planet and people, and who is driven to create a better future for the next generation and beyond.

**You will**:

- Ensure all manufactured and processed products meet safety, quality and legal requirements
- Act upon legislation and guidelines, to ensure manufacturing processes are conducted legally and that they complement our strategic ESG targets and health safety strategy
- Advise on and develop an aligned approach to hygiene, housekeeping, factory fabrication and food handling practices, to ensure products are produced in a food-safe environment where the food safety culture is evident and promoted
- Ensure compliance to BRC standards and customer policies and standards for food safety, health safety, and ESG priorities
- Develop policies and directives that support the delivery of regulatory compliance
- Provide expert advice on core sustainability topics, including: waste, water, energy and climate, as well as ESG frameworks
- Manage work streams and teams on programme execution for technical, health safety, and ESG.

**Skills experience required**:

- Degree level qualification or significant experience at a senior leadership level in a food processing and/or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrable experience in leading a technical function
- Demonstrable experience in leading the ESG agenda in a food manufacturing environment, including taking the lead in the health, safety and environmental space
- Practical experience of current BRC standards and audit best practice
- Experience of operating at a strategic level, managing complex change and development initiatives
- Ability to effectively and positively engage and influence others
- Experience of managing a budget at a divisional or group level
- Project management experience
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- You must be comfortable using digital media and be aware of wider business trends
- Excellent interpersonal skills
