**Purpose of Job**:
To carry out and complete fault diagnoses, repair, testing, overhaul, integration, assembly and maintenance of military vehicles and their associated equipment primarily located at Thorney Island and occasionally at other customer sites. The jobholder workingwithin a team environment will be responsible for achieving equipment availability on a daily basis in accordance with the master schedule. The jobholder working in a team environment will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is maintained in accordancewith the contract readiness levels. The jobholder will complete fault diagnoses, repair, testing, overhaul, integration, assembly and maintenance of military products

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- To perform electro-mechanical servicing and maintenance on military equipment and certify the functionality of the equipment against relevant support documentation
- To perform electro-mechanical fault diagnoses, repair and testing on military equipment and certify the functionality of equipment against relevant support documentation
- To perform electro-mechanical overhaul, refurbishment and testing on military equipment and certify the functionality of equipment against relevant support documentation
- To assist in the coaching of customer representatives for On-the-Job Training activities on military equipment
- To appraise line management and customer representatives on equipment status at daily review meetings and advise on equipment defects and trend analysis
- To record service data and prepare equipment status reports

**Knowledge and Experience**:

- Essential_
- Previous mechanic experience, ideally on armoured vehicles and/or military vehicles
- experience working in a maintenance, production or customer service environment
- familiarity with military equipment
- proficient in his discipline and demonstrate good standards of interpersonal and communication skills
- The role may involve UK and limited international travel and therefore a full driving licence and passport are essential
- Desirable_
- Qualified to HNC /ONC level or recognised equivalent in an engineering discipline and completed a recognised apprenticeship in an electrical / mechanical trade
- familiar with UK MoD structures and procedures relating to the repair and maintenance of military systems and holds a Cat H tracked vehicle license
