Cad Technician

A great opportunity has arisen for a CAD Technician to join a leading manufacturing / installation company who provide solutions to the healthcare and therapy industry:

- Deliver a portfolio of projects from basic fit out/conversion to new build (modular) projects on a budget circa £10k - £150k
- Contribute to the development of company design/drawing standards, working alongside the existing CAD technician to build a strong department and streamlined design process.
- Work within both time and commercial restraints to produce solutions which meet the Scope of Works and requirements of the scheme/project.
- Thoroughly appraise external project documentation (drawings from architects, engineers, steel fabricators etc.) to identify risk, opportunity, insufficient information, inadequate or incorrect design and compliance.
- Manage and prioritise time across 25+ projects, at various stages of development, to ensure deadlines are met.
- Attend and lead design meetings alongside sales representatives or project managers, communicating with main contractors, architects and engineers to develop project solutions.
- Exercise and oversee correct document control throughout projects, using document portals such as Trimble/4P and adhering to drawing/model numbering protocols.
- Ensure BIM standards are met where required (Level 1 & 2). Ensure BIM Execution Plan is established at the beginning of projects and adhered to throughout.
- Maintain clear records of document revision history, and be proactive in using this information alongside document portal records to assist in commercial discussions, e.g. variations.
- Work closely with external HVAC and MEP sub contractors.
- Visit site when required to overcome unforeseen site issues and develop area specific design solutions.

**Beneficial Skills / Qualifications**:

- A developed technical construction knowledge.
- Experience in a professional construction/engineering design role - preferably in the MEP/HVAC industry.
- Ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
- Competent user of MS packages e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams.
- Competent user of AutoCAD (Essential) and Revit (Preferable) and 3D Modelling / Rendering software
- Good understanding of the CDM Regs 2015 and BIM Standards.
- Ability to think methodically and manage projects.

**KPIS**:

- Drawings created and updated in an industry recognised manner with revision / version control.
- All drawing communication, both in and outbound, to be registered / recorded in the prescribed manner.
- All drawings to include all necessary drawings, specifications and references providing sufficient information for the recipient to complete their tasks, or obtain the information they required
- Drawings produced and issued to meet the project delivery program requirements
