Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to continue or expand your career working with children with SEMH needs?

Unique School Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant from either a mainstream or special needs school to join a warm, welcoming, and inclusive special school in the north of Sheffield.

This is a long-term temporary position to start as soon as possible with the strong possibility of permanent contract being offered with the school following the completion of a successful probation period.

This is a full-time position Monday - Thursday between 8.30am - 3.30pm and 8.30-12.00 on Friday term time only to start as soon as possible.

**What the role involves**:

- Supporting Key Stage 2& 3 SEMH learners
- Use specialist (curricular/learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils
- Assist with the development and implementation of IEPs 3
- Establish productive working relationships with pupils
- Acting as a role model and setting high expectations
- Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs
- Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
- Recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is essential
- Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Previous experience of supporting children/young people with SEMH
- Hold a valid Team Teach or equivalent qualification
- Has previous experience of trauma informed support
- Will be inclusive, professional, and reliable
