Aston University is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Visa Compliance Officer to join the Visa Compliance team.

As a senior member of the Visa Compliance Team, you will play a crucial role in upholding our commitment to ensuring the highest standards of compliance with the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) regulations within the context of Higher Education.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- ** Maintaining the University Student Sponsor Licence**:Contributing to the daily tasks related to our University's Highly Trusted Student Sponsor Licence, ensuring strict compliance with UKVI regulations.
- ** Expert Guidance**: Provide expert advice and support to colleagues at all levels and across academic and professional services, guiding them on varying degree of complex student visa and immigration matters.
- ** Obligations to UKVI**: Ensure adherence to all aspects of compliance with our obligations to UKVI as a Highly Trusted Sponsor, keeping abreast of changes in UKVI policy and procedure.
- ** Process Improvement**: Identify opportunities for process and service improvements related to student immigration and compliance, and help implement these enhancements.
- The ability to assess student Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) eligibility, including verification of financial documentation.
- Experience in monitoring international student attendance and fulfilling UKVI reporting obligations.
- Experience of conducting audits of student visa documentation to ensure compliance.
- Experience of leading/coaching other members of staff in relation to student visa rules and regulations
- Strong data analysis skills to identify risks and ensure full compliance with UKVI regulations.
- An aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines.

This role will require you to undertake a basic DBS check.
