We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of consumer goods.

Our client is in the process of reinventing itself as market-driven, consumer-led, data-based, digitally enabled company.

Historically, they have been a company focused on operations and customer service. While these remain vital to their success, they are transforming themselves to drive growth by ensuring that their people, products, and performance metrics are structuredto drive sales and profitability _through_ their customers _to_ our end consumers.

Our client firmly believe that they can make the best products on the market, have a long brand history of innovation and quality, own a distinctive, proprietary production capability, and retain a small but loyal following of consumers who invested in thebrand and would not buy anything else. Now they have to get those messages out to the entire market, both directly to their end consumers and indirectly through their wholesale customers.

**Primary Function**

As Communication Manager you will be responsible for establishing (with the Sales and Creative Director) a consistent visual equity and tone of voice across all communications, creating all external communications (including product descriptions, productimagery, sales collateral, consumer communication, website content), creating and managing a social media presence, driving search engine rankings, and managing the company's website. You will work closely with the creative team to create, test, and implementcompelling consumer messaging and imagery. You will work closely with the sales team to identify needs and create materials which increase in-store sell-through. You will identify, hire, and manage external agencies to drive social and search presence.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and agree (with the Managing Director) a direct-to-consumer communication plan for the company, including website, social media & SEO activities and concurrent metrics and targets.
- Collaborate with the Creative and Sales teams to understand and establish business requirements, content objectives, project deliverables, timelines and translate these into actionable communication plans.
- Spearhead and manage content development, harnessing strategy, business needs, digital and brand design, compelling content, and technology to deliver extraordinary work.
- Supervise internal/external graphic designers, copywriters, photographers, videographers, and project managers in the execution of the company's communication plan.
- Manage all communication timelines & budgets through accurate forecasting, aggressive use of alternative approaches, and ongoing expense management.
- Act as the external communication manager for the brand. Build all types of relationships, on and offline
- Generate regular reporting with clear, data-supported insights
- Substantiate progress and learnings with numerical result

**Experience & Competencies Required**:

- Relevant experience developing consumer focused content in a commercial environment.
- Excellent written English skills a must; copywriting experience a plus.
- Understanding of graphic design principles preferred; art direction experience a plus
- Understanding of how to use data to measure success; comfortable reporting with a firm grasp on statistical analysis of communication metrics.
- Must be able to set and carry out goals and work well independently.
- Entrepreneurial, resilient and flexible approach working with rapidly changing priorities and short deadlines.
