Job Summary As a key member of the Dispensary Team, a Prescription Clerk provides support to our GPs and ANPs in the receipt and preparation of repeat prescriptions for our patients. You will be the main point of contact for Patient enquiries about their prescriptions, so resilience is important. You will be liaising on sensitive medical information, so a caring customer service communication style is essential. Patients expect a high standard of service and outstanding customer service, so working as a team to meet and manage these expectations is important.

In addition, as wholesale assistant you will provide logístical, administrative and governance support to the Responsible Person (RP) and Deputy Responsible Person (DRP). This will require flexibility and a range of IT and excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will be self-motivating and willing to accept new tasks and challenges as the wholesale operation grows. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential qualities.

Key Responsibilities Prescription Clerk Co-ordinating and preparing repeat prescriptions for our Patients, data entry onto Patient records, EPS and Patient and Pharmacy liaison. Work with our GPs to provide a responsive repeat prescription service delegated to the Prescription team as appropriate. Delivering the technical aspects of prescription preparation to ensure the safe prescribing of medicines. Delivering an efficient prescription service and ensuring service targets are met and errors are minimised.

Provide an efficient administration service as part of a Team to ensure the smooth running of the prescription support to our clinicians. Maintain accurate Patient records promptly and quickly - entering data in accordance with reporting requirements. Keep up to date with the site formulary and the National restricted drugs list. Bring any queries to the attention of the relevant doctor or prescriber, to include under and over usage.

Undertake training as requested to support safe and effective services for the site. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by the Partners or the Practice Operations Manager. Wholesale Assistant To ensure that customer orders are received on schedule. Maintaining accurate and up to date records including purchase and sales ledger and batch control sheets.

Work to despatch targets. Issuing of invoices and checking of supplier/client statements. Manage stock control systems and reconciliation data. Check room temperatures are kept at agreed parameters and daily records maintained.

Receive and an act on MHRA alerts and product recalls. Carry out wholesale activities in compliance with Good Distribution Practice. Work closely with customers to process wholesale orders, including associated administration such as entering orders onto system, credit control, managing returns, ensuring batch control and overseeing shipping. Oversee goods received; checking and recording.

Oversee goods dispatched; including packing, checking and labelling. Recording of financials through the raising of purchase orders, invoices and or credit notes. Ensure all business finance related information required is passed to the finance team. Managing returns and complaints received.

Work within and keep up to date our business processes and standard operating procedures. Fully participate in business self-inspection on a monthly basis. Monitor licence holders eligibility to trade on a monthly basis. Undertake bone fides checks annually to verify the legitimacy of both Suppliers and Customers.

Review prices on a monthly basis (both customer and supplier). Deputise for the Deputy RP as and when required. Training Initial training is provided by the RP and DRP. Training will follow the direction as set out within the Training Record Card Competencies will be assessed annually
