Workshop Fitter

Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Workshop Fitter for our client in the London Borough of Camden.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
This role is to undertake comprehensive Vehicle & Plant Servicing, Maintenance and Repair function across a range of items, including:

- Fitter duties on both vehicles and plant, inclusive of all ancillary equipment, as and when required in accordance with health and safety procedures and legislation.
- Preparing and present vehicles and plant for MOT and Plating tests and carry out MOT’s on behalf of the Council as required once fully qualified.
- Carry out pre - delivery inspections and preparation on new vehicles and plant. Give technical support and identify repairs and omissions on new vehicles when compared with vehicle specification.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on vehicles, plant and all auxiliary equipment and to carry out a range of repairs as required, including: minor body work, welding, tail-lift repair and weight tests, and internal heater maintenance.
- Verify any additional work requirements on vehicles and plant in workshops. Road test vehicles. Complete all necessary records to maintain vehicles, plant and cost information.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

- City & Guilds Level 3 certificate or equivalent
- Clean driving licence category B preferably with D and/or C
- Good understanding of a municipal fleet
- Approved MOT vehicle tester - desirable
- Experience of undertaking maintenance and repair of a large municipal fleet of vehicles and plant
- Ability to complete vehicle repairs job sheets

Must be available to be part of call out roster as required and participate in working flexible hours, with a core working day between 07.00 -19.00. From time to time there may be a need to carry out evening and weekend work, as the service needs dictate.

**WORKING HOURS**: 08:00 - 17:00 (Monday-Friday)
