**Nutritionist For Tier 2 Adult Weight Management**

**Location: Norfolk**

**Hours: Freelance or Part-time**

**Job Role**

Nutritionists to deliver community-based Tier 2 patient education on healthy eating and assistance in modifying long-term lifestyles by addressing barriers to change, within a high-quality nutritional group-setting.

Nutritionists to deliver community-based Tier 2 Adult Weight Management educational course to service users across Norfolk.

Working within a multidisciplinary specialist weight management team, you'll play a key role in providing patient-centred support to service users.

Educate patients regarding healthy eating, provide high-quality nutritional groups, and assist them in changing their long-term lifestyle by addressing barriers to change.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Educate and advise patients regarding healthy eating in order to encourage them to take positive steps towards achieving their goals and adopt a long-term healthy lifestyle.
- Provide patients with nutritional information in a format that is understandable and appropriate to support compliance with healthy eating instructions.
- Performing anthropometrics as part of the patient assessment and monitoring process.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and data integrity is always maintained.
- Take appropriate action to manage and prevent clinical issues / incidents, as well as ensure best practices are maintained.
- Maintain a positive attitude to health and safety while carrying out the duties of the post with special emphasis on the environment and safety of the individuals in your care.
- Have a full UK licence and access to a car for work. Have the ability to travel independently across Norfolk as required.

**Essential Criteria**

**Qualifications**
- Relevant degree/postgraduate degree in nutrition and be a member of the Association for Nutrition (AfN) or BDA.
- Membership in a relevant professional organisation or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field (BPS, AfN, etc.).

**Experience**
- Community-based experience delivering health promotion and public health interventions.
- Have an understanding of health inequalities and the difficulties associated with hard-to-reach groups.
- Evidence of delivering behaviour change education to a group basis as well as the encouragement of health promotion and public health interventions in the community.
- Experience working to deadlines.

**Key Capabilities**
- Have a solid understanding of the common co-morbidities associated with obesity, as well as the ability to work closely with your primary care physician and other health professionals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of environmental and social factors effecting obesity.
- The ability to build rapport with individuals and groups quickly and communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and non-verbally.
- IT literate, efficient using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Must have a high attention to detail.
- Work well under pressure and ability to adapt to unpredictable work patterns.
- Work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and innovate.
- Possess self-motivation and a proactive attitude.

**Mandatory Training**

The successful applicant will be required to undertake the necessary mandatory training as identified by Your Health Norfolk.
