Marine/boatbuilder, Engineering Tutor and Skills

The Isle of Wight College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Marine/Boatbuilder, Engineering Tutor and Skills Coach.
**About the role**
As a Tutor and Skills coach, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation by teaching, delivering and coaching students. You will be ensuring that apprentices are able to progress through their apprenticeship programmes and any embedded qualifications in a timely manner, supporting students to progress within their careers and ensuring that the needs employers are met throughout this journey.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have recent working knowledge of a range of disciplines within the Marine/ Boatbuilder, Engineering industry and be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of workplace assessment and assessment methodology. You will also have the following;
- Hold a relevant Level 3 or above qualification
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in English Language and Maths
- Experience in the Marine/Boatbuilder, Engineering field
- Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, and propulsion systems.
- Shipbuilding Techniques: Understanding various construction methods, materials, and tools used in boatbuilding
- Designing effective lesson plans and educational materials
- Adjusting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles
- You will be responsible for teaching courses in your area of expertise, using innovative and engaging methods to motivate and challenge your students.
- You will also provide feedback, guidance and support to help them achieve their academic and personal goals
